When we are closed

When the surgery is closed there is always someone available to look after you if you are unwell. Shropdoc is an out of hours deputising service that looks after our patients when we are closed.

If you need to see a doctor, please ring the surgery as normal and there will be an answering machine with the number you need to call. You will hear a recorded message advising you of the telephone number for Shropdoc, or you can call them directly on 0333 222 66 55.

Click here to be taken to the Shropdoc website.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

Shawbirch Medical Centre also participates in the Prime Minister's Challenge funding to provide access to appointments between 6pm and 8pm each weekday and between 8am and 6pm at weekends - for further details click here.
