Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text

Appointments by phone, video call or by text can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Advanced Nurse Practitioners

Our Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) are able to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions and ailments that previously were traditionally seen by a GP. Please consider an appointment with one of our ANP team who will be very pleased to help you. Our reception team will be able to advise you whether your problem is suitable for their clinic.

Other Healthcare Professionals

We have a range of other Healthcare Professionals, such as physiotherapists, pharmacists, mental health workers and social prescribers, who are able to provide specific types of care that may traditionally been provided by GPs. Our reception team may signpost you to an appointment with one of these other highly-skilled professionals if appropriate.

Extended Opening Hours

GP Practices are now providing extended hours services allowing patients to be able to see a local GP, Nurse or other Healthcare Professional when they need to, including in the evenings and at weekends.

Certain appointments are available at the Medical Centre for registered patients before 08.00 and after 18.30

Saturday appointments with GPs and other Healthcare Professionals are available at our PCN Hub at Muxton.

At present all requests for Extended Access appointments have to made by telephone or face to face at our reception. On line booking is not currently available on our digital systems.

Home visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10:00.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. A GP, Visiting Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Primary Care Paramedic will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the Doctor, Nurse Practitioner or Paramedic to schedule a visit.

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
