Accessible Information Standard

It is vital that patients are able to access information and communicate in a format which is appropriate to them as individuals. This may be requiring, for example, large text letters, communication via British Sign Language or in a different language.

Shawbirch Medical Centre provides information in different formats; please request via reception if required. If you need to communicate or receive information in a different format, please contact us and we will endeavour to meet your needs. There is a hearing loop at the reception desk if needed.

At registration we request information about the communication and access needs of our patients, but we recognise that this may change with time. Please update us with any new requirements. Our staff are able to talk to you privately in the Wrekin Room should you wish to do so, to ascertain your communication needs.

We record individual communication needs on patient records, if consent is given to do so, meaning all members of our team are aware.

If you would likeĀ  information in an alternative format (for example, large print or easy read) or if you need help with communicating with us (for example, because you use British Sign Language), please let us know.
